Breastfeeding Stool

A lot of times when moms come into my office, they have questions about proper ways to latch and position their babies. Moms will tell me that they feel that breastfeeding is going well, but something still isn’t lining up. They might be experiencing some latching discomfort. Baby might not be at a comfortable angle. Mom’s back or shoulders are sore from not sitting comfortably. A lot of times, these issues can be resolved with a little bit of tweaking.

Two of my favorite tools to use in the office is my Infantino Elevate Breastfeeding Pillow (you can click here to read more) and my Breast Friend Breastfeeding Stool. I want to share how the breastfeeding stool can help make your feeding journey more comfortable. So many moms make the mistake of “bringing breast to baby” when they are feeding. This can cause moms to sit uncomfortably and cause lingering neck and back discomfort. When we practice latching and positioning in the office, I always make sure to take care of mom and ensure that she is “bringing baby to the breast.” That’s where this stool can make such a difference! This stool helps to create the perfect angle by turning the knobs on the side to create a comfortable platform. It’s easily adjustable and has a non-slip surface. It does a great job of helping to alleviate stress on your neck, back, and shoulders. This stool allows your thighs to be at more of an angle so that baby naturally rolls deeper towards mommy. This allows for a deeper and more comfortable latch on the breast. When I use this stool in my office, my moms love it and can’t believe how much more comfortable it makes their breastfeeding experience. Once this stool is used, mom is now able to “bring baby to breast,” not “breast to baby.” Just using this simple tool can make all the difference when it comes to positioning comfort. This stool also sits mom at an angle where she is deeper into her seat. This helps to alleviate the back and shoulder discomfort that frequently bothers her. As an added bonus, the stool can then be used as a step stool when baby is a toddler. If you’re looking for a simple way to enhance your feeding sessions, I highly recommend this stool. Here’s to many more comfortable feeds!
