Motherlove More Milk Special Blend

One of the main questions I get from parents that come to my practice is “Am I making enough milk?” or “How do I know if my baby is getting enough breastmilk?” This is a very legitimate question as, of course, we always want what is best for our babies and to supply as much breast milk as possible if that is your goal. As parents, we can very easily get into our heads questioning ourselves and our bodies and their ability to make a sufficient amount of milk for our baby.

Fortunately, the majority of my lactating parents can make breastmilk. Unless there is some sort of underlying medical condition (breast cancer or hormonal imbalances, for example) you, too, can make milk. It’s how we have been feeding our babies for thousands of years! Now, that’s not to say that a lactating parent might not need a little bit of a booster to get things on the right track sooner.

When I describe the ability to make milk to a new parent, I compare it to learning to ride a bike. Think back to the first time you got onto a bicycle. It takes a while to learn how to balance, control the brakes, learn how to turn, etc. This is how some parents’ bodies can be when it comes to making milk. This is a whole new experience for them. It might take a while to get things up and running at optimal performance. When this happens with a bicycle, we usually will use training wheels to help us get the feel and confidence in riding our new bike.

That’s where herbal supplements come into play. Think of these herbals as “training wheels.” They help to boost our milk supply, increase the development of glandular tissue (container size) in the breast, and get milk supply and breast tissue development up and running sooner.

Herbals have been recommended by professionals for generations to support and optimize milk supply. They are effective and fast-acting. Motherlove More Milk Special Blend is one of my all-time favorite herbal supplements. It is a beautiful blend of five herbs that help to build up breast tissue and support breast milk supply.

There are five herbal ingredients in this liquid tincture. Goats Rue will help support the development of mammary tissue and development while the four other herbs (fenugreek seed, blessed thistle herb, nettle leaf, and fennel seed) help to optimize breast milk supply. This supplement is fine to take with food or water. Please note that if you have any sort of thyroid concerns this supplement is not recommended as fenugreek may lower the thyroid hormone T3 for parents with hypothyroidism who are on medication. As with any supplement or medication, it is important to follow up with your medical provider to discuss any other possible side effects or dosing instructions that may apply to you and your specific needs and goals.
